LIVE TOKYO

A station made of windows

LiveTokyo is a curated guide to Japan's public live cameras. Instead of a map with a thousand pins, it works like a TV station: a channel guide, an editor's lineup, and one big screen that is always on air. Tokyo is the front door; the channels run from Hokkaido snow to the Okinawan sea.

How channels are chosen

We watch a lot of cameras so you don't have to. The lineup favors streams run by broadcasters, municipalities, airports, shrines and temples, and tourism organizations, because they stay online and look after their picture. Every channel is checked for reliability and framing before it joins the guide, and the lineup keeps evolving: cameras that go dark get replaced.

Rights and credits

Every stream on this site is a public YouTube live stream, embedded with YouTube's standard player and playing directly from the broadcaster's own channel. We never copy, re-encode, or rehost video. Every channel links back to its original page on YouTube, and every broadcaster is credited in the footer of the home page.

If you run one of these cameras and would rather not be listed, say so in the comment lounge on the home page and we will remove your stream promptly.

Contact

The comment lounge on the home page is the fastest way to reach us: requests, corrections, and camera suggestions all welcome, in English or Japanese.
